In 1978, esteemed concert promoter Harvey Goldsmith brought Bob Dylan to Britain where he played six sell out concert in London’s Earls Court. The demand to see Bob Dylan in concert was so huge that Harvey persuaded Bob to play what turned out to be the single biggest, paid one day concert in U.K. history, with some estimates putting the audience figure at around 250,000. Goldsmith still considers it the high point of his career: “The best event I’ve been involved in was a performance from Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton at Blackbushe Aerodrome in 1978…”
Now you can relive the magic of Blackbushe with this stupendous limited edition coffee table style deluxe book. Crammed full of glorious, largely, previously unpublished colour photos of Dylan, Eric Clapton, Joan Armatrading, Graham Parker and others, the book also covers each performance with memorabilia, stories, reviews, anecdotes and memories from the artists and audience alike.
This unique item is presented in an aluminium flight case. The book itself is Casebound, 128 pages, printed on 170 gsm, silk paper. Size: A4 landscape.
The Picnic At Blackbushe will be published by Wymer Publishing in late October 2017.
