Ghost Ship Films
A feature-length documentary chronicling the life, times and crimes of notorious Bob Dylan obsessive and inventor of the science of Garbology, A.J Weberman. The 80-minute film is an irreverent and especially witty exploration into one man’s obsessions, his life lived on the New York fringes and his uniquely twisted take on the American dream. Directed by James Bluemel and Oliver Ralfe, this film, which was recently shown on BBC television’s “Dylan Night”, won the prestigious Raindance Award (for the Best British Independent Film) at the 2006 BIFAs.

BOB DYLAN - THE NEVER ENDING NARRATIVE 1990-2006

!
Had anyone suggested during the 1980s that Bob Dylan would re-invent himself yet again during the decades that followed, and once more become the music-world’s most respected artist, while picking up multiple awards and achieving number one albums along the way, they may well have been met with a wry smile, if not outright derision. But somehow Dylan pulled it off and after a lengthy period of lacklustre music and performances he again became the most important icon of the rock age. This documentary film follows the career and music of Bob Dylan from the aftermath of his stunning 1989 ‘comeback album’ Oh Mercy and follows his story up to 2006’s masterpiece, Modern Times. Featuring a wealth of archive material, performance footage, exclusive and classic interviews, contributions from many close confidantes plus writers and Dylan experts Johnny Rogan, Derek Barker, Clinton Heylin and Nigel Williamson, along with location film, news reports and some of the finest music recorded during the last 20 years. Extras include; extended interviews, full Contributor Biographies, Beyond DVD section and more.

AFTER THE CRASH DVD 1966-1978

!
after the crash
After The Crash mixes rare historic footage with review and criticism from experts, friends and fellow musicians who played with Bob. Writers and critics Clinton Heylin, Nigel Williamson, Patrick Humphries and Derek Barker volunteer their thoughts and opinions on this icon, and Jacques Levy, in his final interview, discusses his work with Bob on the Desire album. Musicians Ron Cornelius, Bruce Langhorne, Eric Weissberg, Kevin Odegard, Rob Stoner and Scarlet Riviera all talk of their experiences working with Dylan in the studio and on the road. Friend and journalist Al Aronowitz remembers his times with Bob when one of his closest confidantes. Ray Foulkes, organiser of the Isle Of Wight Festival, reveals for the first time how he managed to talk Dylan out of live retirement to perform at the UK’s very own Woodstock. The legendary über-fan, AJ Webberman, recounts the events and conversations that took place between him and a rather fractious Bob Dylan in 1971.

TALES FROM A GOLDEN AGE DVD 1941 - 1966

!
tales

Bob Dylan is without doubt one of the three most influential and pivotal artists of the Rock age, with only The Beatles and Elvis Presley sharing this level of acclaim. It is therefore somewhat surprising that a documentary of this nature has never previously been compiled. In this film we take you behind the music to discover one of the defining artists of the 20th Century. From Bob Dylan’s schooldays we talk to people including his English teacher and the guitarist from his first schoolboy band. We follow his progress through his rebel days in college in Minneapolis to his phenomenal development in the burgeoning Folk clubs of New York’s Greenwich Village. We continue this in-depth journey through Bob Dylan’s golden age to the iconic status he gained in the mid-1960s through classic albums like Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde. We talk to British Folk legend Martin Carthy, charismatic 1966 world tour drummer Mickey Jones, biographers Clinton Heylin and CP Lee and ISIS editor-in-chief Derek Barker. This story of unparalleled musical achievements culminates with Bob Dylan’s infamous 1966 motorcycle accident.
