Van Morrison, the man, and his music were profoundly shaped by his early life in Belfast. His songs are populated with Belfast place names: Fitzroy Avenue, Sandy Row, Beechie River, Cherryvalley, North Bridge Road, Abetta Parade, Orangefield, Castlereagh Hills, Cyprus Avenue and, of course, his birthplace, Hyndford Street.
